We were recently invited to join/start a Sunday Night Dinner group - the idea being to choose a theme and have a potluck and watch a film that goes with the film on a monthly-ish basis. Our first "meeting" was this past Sunday and while there were only a few of us, it was still super fun. This month's theme was dedicated to the end of baseball season. We made hot dogs on the grill and Super Nachos and watched the BEST baseball movie of all time: A League of Their Own.
Cooper made amazingly delicious guacamole which was slathered on everything, including my hotdog as you can see. G grilled the dogs, which is the best way to cook hot dogs in my humble opinion.
Meghan and I made what I'm calling Super Nachos. We've made these before and they are the easiest thing ever. What bought ground beef and cooked it with a packet of fajita seasoning. We layered chips, cheese, bell pepper, green onion, tomatoes, and refried beans on a baking sheet and put in the oven for about 10 minutes until the cheese was melted and the bell pepper had softened up a bit.
Here's a picture taken right after we took this pan of heaven out of the oven. We also chopped up lettuce and jalapenos which added to the nachos to our likings. And of course we topped them with guac.
Whilst munching nachos and drinking wine (yeah, we fancy), we curled up and watched A League of Their Own. We laughed, we cried, we sunk into food comas. We all learned one thing: THERE'S NO CRYING IN BASEBALL!
