Web Wilderness / Branching Out

Man, did this weekend go by like a flash of lightening. In these winter months it's nearly impossible to get me out of the house before 10 pm, but I did manage to accomplish a few tasks in the light of day. The most important was taking a step toward improving my (and Cooper's) personal health life - we joined our local YMCA. I'm pretty excited to be more active again, especially since the Y closest to us has a pool!

I'm not going to lie, coming back to work today is going to be difficult. Again, when it's this cold outside I just want to stay inside all day cuddled up under a few blankets. I know it's selfish, but if I could actually go into hibernation from now until March I totally would. But alas, that's not a possibility, so if you're looking to kill some time this Monday morning, these internet findings should help -
  • OK, so what did you think about Jodie Foster's Golden Globe speech? I LOVED it. Sure, it was a little weird, but when she was on a roll, man was she rolling. I actually really enjoyed the Golden Globes overall this year because it felt like the women being honored were all, well, just better then their male counterparts. And the best part was that each winner was happy to talk about the issue of Hollywood vs. Women, how proud they were to advocate more real female portrayals in film and how important it is to support other women. Truly inspiring stuff here people.
  • You HAVE to read this account of what it's really like to work with Lindsay Lohan. Come on girl, just get your shit together already.
  • Girls rightfully swept a few categories at last night's Golden Globes. We can appreciate the show's authenticity, especially when it comes to how the girls dress. Here's a guide to appropriate attire for all occasions according to the Girls world.
  • Flashing back to the 90's is one of my favorite ways to pass some free time. The fashion was so sleek back then and while some of it might look dated now, I just can't help but love it. If you're like me, then you'll appreciate this look into channeling some of that style in today's world.
  • I'm loving this retro DIY wood wall art!
  • When spring finally arrives, I may have to invest in this. How cool is that?
  • Every woman needs to read this
  • I want to buy this for Kerry. I think she'd like it.
  • This website has totally charmed the pants off of me.
  • In this week's edition of the weirdest/best thing I saw on the internet recently - these photographs

This is a photo I took this weekend at a friend's apartment/art space. So inspiring to be creative, especially with color!
