Wind Down / Wound Up

Well folks, we are in the throes of summer. We are officially in the dog days of summer where it's almost too hot to go outside and the humidity makes it a little hard to breathe. I, for one, have been watching a lot of mvoies this past week. But after secluding myself to the air conditioning, the weekend is looking even better and better to me. If you, too, are looking to get out of the house this weekend, I've compiled a list of things going on this weekend that will help you do just that. As the work week winds down WO+SF and crew are getting wound up for the weekend.

FRIDAY July 12
  • Check out some local art at "Art the Yard" at Selective Auto on 40th and Farnam. Local artists will display their work and drinks will be had.
  • Hit up a sweet show at O'Leavers. Twinsmith, Noah's Ark was a Spaceship, and Gordon will be rockin the club.

  • O'Leavers brings us another sweet show! SPEED! Nebraska presents The Killigans, Domestica, The Sons of O'Leavers, and The Filter Kings.
  • Or, there is an equally sweet show going on in Benson at the Waiting Room as well! Snake Island, Universe Contest, Plack Blague, and Eric in Outerspace are playing. If you have not seen Plack Blague, go to this show, if only to see this one-man wonder. It will be worth it, we promise.
  • We love, love, love Dixie Quicks. Not only is it some of the best food in town, they have an art gallery connected and are fantastic supporters of local artists. Tonight is the opening reception for their newest art show, Machine/Man/Air/Land.
SUNDAY July 14

Check out the birdhouse I painted. AND I installed the hanger on my fence all by my little old self!
