Thoughts on a Birthday

My 26th year held a great deal of extreme highs and extreme lows. I lost a very dear and important maternal figure in Sue Moon (whose birthday also would have been today), but gained a brother I had waited 10 years to become an official member of my family. If this year has taught me anything, it’s to wash your hands of negativity, give no fucks what anyone thinks about you, allow people second chances when they deserve them, embrace the power and support of female relationships, drink whisky or wine as often as needed, and find a couple of close companions to get you through it all, whether they are of the furry or human variety. Sayonara 26. Eat my dust. Watch out 27.  Mommy’s going to crush you.
